The Crowden Music Center has an immediate opening for an Admissions Manager. Crowden, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 in Berkeley, California, combines music and education to nurture, develop, and inspire students of all ages. Founded in 1983 by Scottish violinist Anne Crowden, today Crowden serves an annual audience of 11,500 with a rich array of workshops, events, and concerts. Crowden’s flagship program is The Crowden School, the first of its kind in the nation: a coeducational day school for grades four through eight that provides a distinguished education with chamber music at the core. In addition, Crowden is an active center for music rehearsals, performances, and recitals for students and professional musicians. It plays an important role in music education in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Position Summary: The Admissions Manager is responsible for all aspects of the admissions process for The Crowden School. The successful candidate will coordinate with the Communications Director to define and implement effective recruitment strategies, and will work closely with the school administration to shepherd prospective families through the admissions process. Because many prospective families learn about Crowden through participation in the Center’s community programs, the Admissions Manager also acts as a point of contact for those programs.
As a face of the Crowden Music Center to the public, the Admissions Manager must demonstrate a personal understanding of and commitment to Crowden’s unique mission and educational philosophy.
The Admissions Manager is a full-time, exempt position. However, the schedule can be flexible, so candidates interested in a part-time position are encouraged to apply.
