Allouche Gallery is currently seeking full time candidates with a desire to increase their knowledge of Gallery Management with this hands-on learning internship opportunity. This experience will benefit those with a background or degree in art history or arts administration looking to gain insight into the business side of the art industry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Artwork database management
-Photography database management
-Assisting with monthly exhibition preparations
-Light art handling and installation preparations
-Administrative tasks such as mailings, filing, general clerical work and assisting with general gallery maintenance
-Background or degree in art history or arts administration is preferable
-Applicant must be proactive, hard-working, motivated and articulate
-Applicant must be able to handle all tasks and projects given with competency, accuracy, and efficiency
-Attention to detail, strong listening skills and strong organizational skills are a must
-Applicant must be able to follow specific guidelines on long term projects designed for the internship program.
-Background with MAC computers and systems preferable
-Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) preferable
-Experience with high resolution photography and editing preferable
Applicant must be able to commit to 3 days per week, at minimum (Monday-Sunday 10:30 AM – 7 PM)
Unpaid, interns will receive a stipend to cover travel expenses and lunch.
