Under the direction of the Director, Gifts of Art, and working closely with the Development Officer, Gifts of Art, the Development Associate supports daily operations of the Gifts of Art Program. The Development Associate provides high-level program support, including administrative contact with donors; tracking and coordination of gift offers with Curatorial and Development staff; drafting correspondence; processing sensitive legal and tax-related paperwork; and managing logistics for stewardship programs and events.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, along with one to three years of office experience preferred, as well as a general knowledge of museum practices or non-profit administration; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; strong professional demeanor and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information; ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced environment; proven ability to work both independently and as a team player; understanding and appreciation for important roles volunteer and staff play in institutional advancement; solid working knowledge of PC-based Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required; high level of comfort with database systems and an ability to extract data for the purpose of management reporting.
