Founded in 1991 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) literary arts organization, Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures connects celebrated authors with the community, elevates civic discourse, and inspires creativity and a passion for the literary arts through our five signature programs:.
Ten Evenings is our mainstage program presenting celebrated authors generously sharing their research and creative process in conversational lectures.
New & Noted brings nationally touring authors to Pittsburgh with their newly released titles.
Words & Pictures presents acclaimed children’s authors to readers of all ages. A ‘lemonade reception’ and book signing follows the author’s presentation.
Made Local showcases talented local authors as well as books and writers with a Pittsburgh connection.
Poets Aloud features readings by published poets.
The Event Production Coordinator facilitates the smooth operation of lecture events for all five programs through clear communication, detailed schedules, and serving as liaison for event details with the author representative as well as the venue, book-sellers, volunteers, drivers, photographers, and other event participants.
The Event Production Coordinator is a key staff member who participates in all staff meetings, is present at all PA&L programs, and offers administrative assistance as needed.
Undergraduate degree required. Two years’ experience in related field required. Computer requirements include mastery of the Windows PC operating system as well as Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to master Tessitura. This position requires excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
The ideal candidate must have a passion for literary arts and community, be a team player who is able to work collaboratively with a small staff, and have a sense of humor. Applicants must be able to attend meetings, events, and programs outside the office.
