Part-time: 2 days per week (those days must be Weds-Fri) / 12 hours per week (minimum)
Daily Stipend: $25 per day

We are looking for an entry-level Gallery Assistant Intern with a background in photography. The internship will begin early January and will continue until early May. The intern will assist the Gallery Manager and Director in all aspects of gallery management. This will include the accessioning of prints into the inventory, the posting of images and catalogue descriptions onto our website, maintaining the client database, and the generation of promotional materials for marketing efforts.
Most importantly, the intern will assist in the preparation for the AIPAD Photography Show (The Association of International Photography Art Dealers annual Exhibition which will be moved to the Piers this year March 28th – April 2nd 2017). The intern will be involved in all aspects of the Show from planning to participating in the event itself, to post Show follow-up.
This is a great opportunity to gain insight into the photography world, with hands-on gallery experience as well as participation in upcoming gallery shows and major photography fairs. You will learn about the history of photography and the connection to the current art market.
• Knowledge of the history of photography strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional demeanor and commitment to participating in gallery events
• Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
• Adobe Suite (Photoshop)
• Wordpress (preferred but not required, will train)
• Social Media experience (preferred: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest)
