Shin Gallery, located in the Lower East Side, New York, seeks a highly motivated gallery intern. Shin Gallery is an experimental and interactive gallery with versatile interchanging space, leading by a contemporary vision. Shin Gallery has done projects such as “Salon de Mass-age,” presenting works done by Rudolf Schwarzkogler and Nobuyoshi Araki, in a recreated massage parlor filled with objects alluding the space. We have an upcoming exhibition “Do I Wake or Do I Sleep” with Keunmin Lee’s on-going process of art making on view at the gallery. “I Wanna Be Me” is also an upcoming exhibition which will have an allusion of CBGB bathroom, conjuring the bold essence of the punk rock scene by assembling the seminal works of iconoclastic artists and framing them within a string of grimy toilets stalls, with the encrusted strata of DIY stickers and graffiti tags.
We are looking for a responsible and engaged intern who is willing to able to learn and multitask with the intent of taking initiative in the operations of the gallery. Successful candidate will be ambitious and prompt, organized and willing to work in all aspects of the development of the gallery business.
