The Goodman Lounge Lead is an integral part of the Goodman Theatre’s front-of-house department. This position is responsible for taking care of our VIP patrons in a private lounge as a bartender and host. The Goodman Lounge Lead will pro-actively anticipate the needs of guests, donors and sponsors. This is a full-time position with regular evening and weekend hours. The position is salaried, with an employee benefits package.
-Greet and welcome all guests
-Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging customer service
-Identify and anticipate guests’ needs
-Preparation and serving of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
-Safe preparation and handling of food
-Conduct regular inventories of supplies
-Insure cleanliness and timely maintenance of the lounge
-Research cocktails and plan bar and food menu
-Attend regular meetings to keep informed of Goodman happenings
-Ensure that Goodman patrons have a superior experience at the theatre.
Experience and Qualifications:
-1-2 years experience working with high-end clientele
-Must possess outstanding customer service skills and sophisticated verbal and written communication skills
-Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications; knowledge of Tessitura a plus
-Highly responsible and reliable
-Basset Certification a plus
-Able to work and think independently
-Must love working with all kinds of people
-Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
-Must be skilled at problem solving
