The Museum Education Program Coordinator(MEPC) is a full -time non-exempt position within the Education Division, with a considerable amount of student and teacher contact. The primary responsibility of the Museum Education Program Coordinator is curriculum development for all museum education programs. The Museum Education Program Coordinator plays an essential role in providing every student and teacher with a high quality, interactive, and engaging Museum experience.
Under the direction of the Director of Education and Visitor Services, the MEPC will help create material rooted in the California State Standards and other relevant standards. Work with the Director of Education to ensure tours and materials are grounded in current museum pedagogical theory. The MEPC will also work directly with the school to coordinate field trips.
This position requires the availability of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30a.m. and 5:00p.m. unless otherwise needed.
Occasionally while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to travel independently regionally and in communities served. Position requires working at a desk and utilizing a computer and a telephone for prolonged periods of time.
