BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, AMERICAS

We are looking for an exceptional Business Development Director to join our BIG NYC team. You will lead the four-person team and work closely with the partner group and management leaders. You will start in early Fall 2016.
Lead business development efforts for North & South America, giving active support to the Partners;
Vet and maintain overview of responses to RFQs/RFPs/RFIs;
Take meetings with potential clients, alone or with partners;
Provide assessments of potential new projects;
Maintain a clear overview of business-related inquires;
Develop and issue fee proposals;
Work directly with Partner-in-Charge of Business Development, CEO, and Operations Director, as well as manage junior staff;
Lead market research projects;
Represent BIG at events and conferences;
Maintain CRM databases and present reports to partners and management team;
Prepare regular status updates.
Role responsibilities may change and grow as the role develops.
5+ years’ experience from similar or related position;
Minimum bachelor-level degree in either Marketing, Business, Communication, and/or Architecture;
Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, (particularly InDesign), and CRM systems (Sugar is a plus);
Fluency in English (fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus);
Excellent communication and organizational skills;
An interest in and affinity for market research;
An understanding of architecture, building procedures and urban planning is recommended;
Experience and enjoyment in leading a dynamic team;
Interest in and experience in the management of an architecture office;
Self-discipline and confidence in an ad hoc environment.
