Contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to intern with the gallery’s archival department one to two days per week from March through May. Candidates should be responsible, eager to learn, punctual, Mac proficient, and capable of working independently. The internship’s main focus is to introduce the selected candidate to the essential day-to-day operations of an archival department at a contemporary art gallery. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following: scanning and formatting press, organizing the library, updating CVs, archiving images, and creating a literary archive on the database. Applicant must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Experience using ArtBase or FileMaker is a plus. Knowledge of contemporary art, galleries and institutions is also desirable. This is an unpaid internship, however the gallery is happy to arrange for school credit if needed.
