Security Attendants have the responsibility for ensuring that the experience of each renting client and theater patron is safe and pleasant, by performing rounds and providing parking assistance. The Security Attendant makes him/herself and other staff members aware of any irregularities inside or outside the building during his/her shift. This part-time position is on-site for all events to which the general public is invited. The Security Attendant may work in conjunction with other hired Security personnel (ie: off-duty police officers). Security Attendants report to the Operations Coordinator, but must also work closely and coordinate with all staff, including the Executive Director, Technical Director, Programming and Outreach Manager, and Administrative Associate.
Excellent communication skills are a must – Security staff must have the ability to work with and communicate effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. The position requires working with both the public and clients, so excellent customer service skills are also necessary. Attitude can greatly influence the experience the public has at the Theater, which means that it should be positive, friendly and personable. The New Hazlett Security staff member must be a team player – able to work well with others and be flexible in a sometimes stressful environment. Security Attendants must be responsible individuals who comply with safety regulations and ensure that the public and clients do the same.
